Healing of the site can take one to two weeks, depending on the complexity of the procedure.
The First 24 to 48 Hours
The first day or two is when you will notice the most discomfort and swelling. This is normal. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek in 20-minute intervals to help manage swelling.
Stick to soft foods, avoid using a straw, and rest as much as you can. Most people find that over-the-counter pain medication is enough to keep them comfortable through this stage.
What to Expect in The First Week
By day three or four, you should notice a clear improvement. Swelling goes down, and any remaining discomfort becomes easier to manage. When Does Full Healing Happen?
