Are dental implants painful?

Both Dr. Wang and Dr. Ma take patient comfort seriously and provide the most gentle dentistry possible. We want to make it easy for our patients to choose the care that will best support their oral health and ensure that you have a positive experience while you are with us.

Placing dental implants is actually a relatively minor surgery. Our dentists are experienced in the placement of single and multiple implants, as well as implants for securing dentures.

What to Expect After Dental Implant Treatment

Most patients who receive dental implant treatment have minimal post-op pain for a day or two that can be controlled with over-the-counter pain medicine like ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory brand. We will discuss which will work best for you. Often times, there is less discomfort compared to an extraction, and healing times are generally faster.

We will go over how to care for your dental implant as it heals so that you can enjoy an optimal outcome.

Within a few days, you should begin to feel significantly better as your body’s natural healing process takes over. If discomfort persists, we recommend that you contact our office right away. We are here to make sure that your dental appointment and the healing process go smoothly.
