We are a family-owned dental practice and have a child of our own, so we understand the challenges of a busy family schedule. That's just one of the reasons why we welcome patients of all ages to Prairie Dental Care, including your littlest family members!
We treat children, beginning with their very first trip to the dentist, and provide a fun, positive experience where your child can thrive.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that your child makes his or her first trip to the dentist before their first birthday celebration. This simple, yet important visit allows us to ensure proper development of your child’s teeth, answer any questions you may have about your child’s oral health, and demonstrate healthy habits such as cleaning their teeth and gums.
This initial trip to our dental office will be a milestone for your child. You are welcome to take pictures and participate in this memorable event.
Children grow up so fast! The experience your child has now can shape their oral health for a lifetime. We make dental visits easy, educational, and fun, while supporting good oral health along the way.
We offer effective preventive dental treatments for children, including:
Every child is different, and we will always go at your child’s pace, proceeding with treatment when they are ready and cooperative. Our recommendations will reflect your child’s unique needs as they grow.
Communication with parents is essential for your little one to maintain a healthy smile. We are always here to provide you with answers to your questions, advice, and recommendations based on the dental care we would want for our own children.
Even with the best efforts at home and here at Prairie Dental Care, many kids will experience decay or damage to a tooth at some point during their childhood. We provide gentle treatment to restore your child’s precious smile:
Dr. Wang has extensive experience working with children in a pediatric dental office. Her expertise and advanced skills allow her to treat most pediatric dental conditions right here in our office using gentle techniques. She will speak to your child in a way that they understand using compassionate, non-threatening language.
If your little one is especially anxious, talk to us. We offer nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, to help them relax.
After your child's dental appointment, if we used anesthetic, please keep an eye on your little one as they may accidentally bite themselves on the lip or cheek without noticing it because they cannot feel pain until the anesthetic wears off.
Our entire team is dedicated to providing a solid foundation for your child’s future oral health. We look forward to meeting you and your family.
